Dr. V. began a Women’s Auxiliary in 1976, where she met with women from various economic, social, and religious backgrounds weekly, creating an atmosphere that encouraged them to maximize their potential. This ministry encompassed women who were rejected, abandoned, or sexually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually abused. Discerning the origin of their pain—using her keen ability to understand and identify the underlying issues—she assisted them in beginning their journey to wholeness.

To further support these women, Dr. V. opened the Fellowship Church of Praise Book & Gift, and Boutique, fostering self-confidence and emotional healing by providing wardrobes and makeovers. In 1987, she awoke to a vision and heard an audible voice saying, “heal the sick.” She saw people with all manners of diseases and emotional illnesses and knew she was destined to heal broken people. As a seer—a person with the ability to perceive events or developments beyond normal sensory contact, often regarded as having prophetic insight—she understood her calling to heal those in need.

Dr. V. personally witnessed the domestic violence her biological mother endured, even having "in the womb" memories of her mother's abuse before birth. She could visually recall her mother with a black eye, rushing to prepare a meal for her fourth husband whom she feared. This experience drove her to heal and empower women affected by domestic violence or any kind of emotional or psychological abuse.

Recognizing the need for support among men as well, she became an advocate for broken men, acting as a Deborah for all the Baraks. She is a restorer of fallen or wounded people and ministers, armed spiritually and anointed to help them believe in themselves. She aids in identifying root issues, character flaws, and generational curses (inherent or hereditary issues passed from generation to generation).

In 2004, Dr. V. envisioned a weekend holiday near or surrounded by water, in a five-star hotel, where women could pamper themselves with massages, pedicures, manicures, facials, and hair stylists demonstrating flattering designs. This vision birthed the Healing the Whole Woman: Spirit, Body, and Soul Conference. This vision also led to the debut of her first solo book, “Healing The Whole Woman: Spirit, Body, and Soul,” later re-titled “Healing The Whole Person.” She concurrently launched her first Women’s Conference in Jacksonville, FL in 2005. In 2011, she took the conference to the high seas aboard Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Sea and has since also rebranded this conference as "The Healing Conference," with its debut in 2022 focusing on the healing of all people.

Dr. V.'s unwavering dedication to healing and empowering individuals has transformed countless lives. Healing the Whole Person/Pathway To Peace Inc. is not just the name of her non-profit organization; it is the essence of her life's work. Through her compassionate leadership and visionary approach, she continues to inspire and uplift those in need, fostering a world where everyone can achieve wholeness in spirit, soul, and body.
